Responsive Restaurant Website Research
The Challenge
- I will be redesigning The Shaved Duck, a St. Louis BBQ restaurant and family style gathering place in Tower Grove, MO. The current site is overloaded with information, has weak content structure and hierarchy, and looks outdated.
General Approach
- Deep content cleanse.
Understanding the most important information will help me establish a clear and easy-to-navigate content structure. The locally owned restaurant is proud to be part of the St. Louis BBQ scene, but doesn't properly showcase its menus, live music schedule, and announcements. Restructuring how this information is presented will help users quickly access the information they need.
- Revamp The Shaved Duck Branding.
In order to appeal to a wider audience, I will update The Shaved Duck brand to better portray the restaurant's lively feel.
- Consider Additional Features
The Shaved Duck's current website lacks in features such as a blog and page for press/news. In order to inspire customer interaction with the site, adding features such as a blog will help The Shaved Duck owners and employees showcase the restaurant's personality.
