Users and Website

I plan to redesign St. Louis Gyro House's website. It is a great restaurant with great food, but their website doesn't represent them well. The restaurant is located on the Loop so it's users would be any person living in the St. Louis or U-City area. Their clientele includes a wide range of people, young to old, and since their items are not highly priced, it's accessible to all financial levels.

Examples

Pastaria

• One page site: scroll through the whole site, no multiple pages
• Simple, easy to read and navigate
• Clear pictures that make the restaurant seem appeasing
• Hover nav bar that's always accessible
• No frills, has minimum what the user needs

Niche

• Mission statement with parallax scrolling
• Easy to access social media
• Again, one page site. Click on nav bar, scroll to section on page (not new pages)

Arzak

• All the pages right up front and center, no hunting/searching for info
• Colored bar shows up when you hover over link
• Background is slideshow of pictures of restaurant/history

• No scrolling on main site
• Bright, friendly colors

Responsive Site

Plan

I plan on updating the Gyro site by making it sleeker and more attractive. I also plan on creating a one-page site with tabs that jump to a specific section of the page instead of making separate pages. There will be a floating nav bar that is accessible at all times. Everything will be centered so when read on a mobile device or a smaller browser screen, the alignment won't get messed up. I also plan to add some images in that make the site more exciting instead of the boring blue background.
