High Level Approach:

On the home page, there will be a search bar and a nav bar that has categories of bikes. Once you click on those a list of never ending thumbs will appear on a new page. Then once you click on a thumb, a large photo of the product will appear, with most of the information about it off to the right. The description will be in the right column at the bottom, and it will scroll if it gets too long. There will be an add to cart button. At the bottom will be specifics about the materials in the bike and customer reviews. You can eventually view your cart by clicking the cart link then proceed to checkout, where it will ask for payment info, giving a PayPal option. Then a page confirming submission will appear and a confirmation email will be sent.

Amazon

I like how it suggests things as you are typing it in to narrow your search
    Roll over zoom
Add to cart button, quantity already set to 1, which is nice—less clicking
Thumbs along the left side, as you hover over, they change the main photo
Order of info off to right: title, rating and link to customer reviews and answered questions, price, size, color thumbs that change as you hover over them but do not make the picture completely change until you click on it, description at bottom, which is nice because it can go on forever without pushing out the necessary info
Their categories—mountain, road, BMX, Cruiser, Fixed Gear, electric
On cart page you can delete, save for later, check the “this is a gift (learn more) checkbox

Delia's

Schwinn

Gives you categories of bikes in the nav bar: Cruisers, hybrid, bike path, mountain, road, kids
    Also archive by year—necessary?

Big Shark

At the bottom, it lists bike specifications, i.e. Frame: Electra steel, Rims: Aluminum, Tires: Classic Knobby, 24 x 2.125, etc.
