The Challenge

I will be designing a website for Baileys' Chocolate Bar. The current website does not include any pages and has no clear internal navigation menu. The challenge will be to create a responsive website that is easy to navigate on any device, including: desktop, tablet, and mobile. At the same time, the website needs to be visually appealing and attractive to any potential customers.

Approaches

I will first address the website's content and organize the information into clear pages. This organization will then inform the website's navigation. Since the website will be responsive, I will calculate max device widths that break up the page according to screen size. The layout will then need to be fluid and should be able to be resized. One approach is to create a simple, one-page grid that is easily adjusted. I will also need to consider what elements will be reorganized and what styles will change at different widths.

Reference #1

The grid resizes according to different screen widths. Images and content are considered when the grid is resized; they don't necessarily become smaller as the screen becomes smaller. Style elements may also change as the screen size changes. (UX London / Emporium Pies)

Reference #2

A single page layout with page anchoring navigation. (Niche / Whitmans)

Reference #3

Clear navigation both text and image-based. (Brindisa Tapas Kitchens / The 25 Mile)
