The Prompt: QuickCycle is an online bicycle retailer. One of the core features of their website will be there interface by which users find the ‘right’ visual design for this interface.

Defining the Problem: Each person’s idea of the “perfect bike” is unique. The interface needs to accommodate the individual shopper who knows exactly what he/she wants to the shopper just shopping around. The site should be very clear and easy to understand, with different options for finding your perfect bike.

My Solution: My site’s opening page will bring the customer straight to the complete listing of bikes, starting with the most popular options. There will then be an optional set of comprehensive filters which each individual shopper can decide to use or not. There will be alternate sections for shopping for accessories, reading recent cycling related news, and company information. The product pages will feature large scale photos and alternate views with supporting product information. The filters on the product will be clear and similar bikes will be displayed.

Examples:

Well Defined Categories This site has good information for the technical and logical way I intend to create categorical tags for the products.

Clear Top Navigation Clear information and captivating banner photo.

Clear Top Navigation Filters in top navigation are easy to use.

Product Selection Handles a lot of information for each product in an elegant way.

Details Page Nice way to handle details page using large scale photography.

Alternate Approach Another way to move through the bike-finder process. Could be an option for user that is lost.

The main goal of this page is to be clear and user friendly. A simple scrolling display of products will be the mail focus. Additional services will be a simple search, categorical filters, and a "bike selector" page for customers that need more guidance.
